What type of shingles are most common?
Common types of roofing systems:
-> Architectural shingles are the most popular of the last decade replacing 3-Tab shingles because they are relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Most homeowners choose asphalt shingles because the life expectancy is 25 years or more.

-> Designer asphalt shingles provide a more distinctive appearance and carry a longer manufacturer’s warranty. They come in many unique styles which are more attractive, but also more expensive than the basic asphalt tile.

-> Euroshield® Roofing Products contain approximately 95% recycled content and the trim and scrap material generated from the manufacturing and installation process can be recycled again back into more Euroshield® roofing products. Furthermore, all Euroshield® Roofing Products are recyclable at the end of their life cycle.

What is an ice dam?
Ice dam formations are the result of continuous freezing and thawing of snow, due to escaping heat from the house or from gutters being backed up with frozen slush. When this occurs water may be driven under the roof tiles, which may cause costly ceiling, wall, insulation, gutter and/or foundation damage. This can be a sign of multiple failures in your current roofing system, the most common culprit being inadequate ventilation.
How important is proper ventilation?

It is the most important part of a long-lasting roof and people often underestimate the importance of a proper roof ventilation system. Good roof vents increase your home’s energy efficiency and extend the life and quality of your roof. Roof vents also remove musty air and moisture from your attic, preventing problems like mold, mildew, ice, rot and poor air quality. The increased energy efficiency from roof vents saves you money, lowering your energy bill and reducing your carbon footprint.

How do I know if I have a leak?
There are some tell-tale signs you may have a leak in your roof, such as: water stains on your walls and ceiling, growth of mold, algae or fungus, curling and/or buckling of shingles and a sagging ridge. If any of these signs are present, then your roof likely needs repair.

What is Haag Certification?
In the roofing and insurance industries, the phrase “Haag Certified” is trusted. It indicates that we can effectively and efficiently inspect and assess roof damage. Haag Inspectors are certified to carry out inspections on behalf of Insurance Adjusters with set guidelines in place.
Does my home need new soffits?
It depends on whether or not your current soffits are in good condition and have proper air flow. New homes often have vented soffits already installed. Some homes, particularly older ones, have very few, if any, installed – which is just asking for a poorly ventilated, stuffy attic.
When should I replace my siding?
If your siding is bubbling, blistering, cracked, warped, faded due to UV damage or has begun to rot and mold, it is time for an assessment of your home’s exterior.
